I started collecting my hair in 2005. When I wash my hair in shower, some of the hair gets loose and sticks on my fingers – I started spinning them into balls so they wouldn’t clog the sewer. The balls accumulated. The color of the balls has changed slightly over the years, now the white hair comes along slowly. The number of hairballs shows the passage of time and aging. I make a long pearl string out of my hairballs, and twist that string into a spiral. The spiral shape occurs in nature for example in human DNA. As a symbol, the spiral means e.g. growth and the cycle of nature. Collecting the hairballs continues. I hope I get old enough for the balls on the outer edge of the spiral to slowly turn white.
