My public art work Forest Sounds was opened in Angered suburb in Gothenburg, Sweden. The work in a light traffic underpass tunnel depicts sound waves and woods reflecting from water. The work consists of wall paintings and laser-cut steel plates on both sides and the ceiling of the tunnel, and a soundtrack recorded at forests and lakes. More about the work here.

I have shown kinetic installation Phaser in two previous exhibitions this year, the work has been modified according to the gallery spaces. Now it is time for the grand finale of the tour in the biggest space yet. Muu Kaapeli gallery is in the Cable Factory, which is the largest cultural center in Finland.

Art goes Kapakka is a ten-day cultural city event in Helsinki, Finland. The festival is held 16.-25.8.21018 at the best restaurants, bars and cafes in the center of the city. The festival is full of music, performance, poetry, improvisation and other performing arts, and it brings a broad and interesting collection of visual arts to the restaurants.

In kinetic installation Phaser two room-size vinyl mesh fabrics are hanging next to each others, and programmed devices slowly push the fabrics closer together. The movement of the viewer and the pushing devices create constantly changing moire patterns, that effect viewers´ perception of the distance of the fabrics.

In another room I present sculptures that I made, or started to make, during my residency in Villa Lante, Rome last autumn.

Capitel Magazine has published images of “Déjà Vu” in their October 2017 issue, themed “Movement”. My works are illustration for article “The idea of ​​movement as an obstacle in clinical psychology.” The paper is published by Universidad Humanitas in Mexico.

The Finnish Institute in Rome was established 60 years ago as a base for Finnish students and researchers working in Italy. The aim of the Institute is to promote Finnish work in the humanities related to Italy as well as in the arts.

Alongside the researchers there is always one artist working in the beautiful Villa Lante, a 16^th century summer house, the home of the institute on top of the Gianicolo hill. The atelier at Villa Lante was built in 1966 and since then dozens of Finnish artists have been able to work enjoying the unique view and light. I have been happy to have spent already one month in the Institute´s artist residency. I will stay in Rome until the end of the year 2017.
